First they showed up on a Friday at 5:30pm unannounced -- all the way from NC to KY. The first heads up I got that they were coming was 8 repeated phone calls from an unknown number, telling me when I picked up that they were at my gate. The plan WAS for me to have a crew of guys there to help unload the material from the truck, roadside -- Unbelievable!!

I had scheduled a delivery with Keith to drop material off at the gate and for me to take the material down the driveway the job site, since the big truck they drive cannot get across the bridge to my house. Not once when talking to Keith was I told that scheduling this with him meant they wouldn't be sending a crew to build the garage. I reviewed the contract I signed and it does not mention this, however the lady that answered the phone was adamant and and not willing to help me out.

While I still have issues with the initial communication and the issues of them not holding to the contract I signed with them for the labor in building the garage, Brandon H and Caleb T were the only two to help rectify my one star review. While the communication and clarity is extremely lacking, Brandon went above and beyond to fix a problem that he inherited from the previous person in his position and do his best to offer me solutions to fit my timeline. they offered to send a crew back out to build the structure, however it would have been too long into the future. As far as the issue with me being short on material. Brandon took charge and got me a refund check for the missing material.

I wish I could give them 5 stars for fixing these problems, however, the main reason I went with this company was for the labor included in the price. Instead I was left to either pay more from a local contractor than deducted from the total amount for "labor" or build it myself. While Brandon has done everything he can for me, it still has not been a pleasant experience and definitely would not want to build one again myself.

We could not have asked for any better service or quality of work. The guys were top notch! They worked from the time they got here until the time they left. They wanted every peice done prefect. They have a lot of pride in the work they do. We would highly recommend this company and installers to anyone.

I strongly recommend staying away from American Metal Garages. I put down an $1,800 deposit for a building, and they immediately sold my contract to another manufacturer who couldn’t meet the promised lead time. After cancelling the order, they refused to refund my payment. Poor communication, zero accountability, and absolutely no customer service. Save yourself the headache and choose a more reputable company.

Todd was most helpful friendly and professional during the process. He provided cost information, savings opportunities, and guidance through the contract process. The installation guys did a great job. They were very professional, asked relevant questions, offered suggestions, kept the site clean and finished on time. I would recommend this team for all of your building needs.

I would highly recommend American metal garages. Nathan was very knowledgeable and did an outstanding job of providing information that was very helpful in my decision and was always quick to follow up with me with answers to any questions I had.

Use a different company. Once you get done with the salesman, they tell you expect a call from the manufacturer. That call won’t come for a month, then if you have to change anything on the shop, it starts your wait time over. We had to change size of our shop and was told it was no issue. However, it took multiple calls and emails before we ever heard back, then was told that they’d reach back out to go over the order a couple weeks later. It’s been a month and haven’t heard anything. Cancelled my order with this company and lost a deposit, but would much rather lose $1700 and deal with an easier company than continue with American metal garages and SBSI.

First off, this is not a metal building company. They are purely a broker. So if you want to pay $2k in commission on top of the price of your building, they’re a great fit, but if you want your cash to go directly to the builder I’d bypass this middle man.

Secondly, this is a dishonest organization. I worked with them under the assumption that they were the actual builder/assembler. I asked the sales person numerous questions about the process to try to confirm that it wasn’t a brokered deal and each time they confirmed that the install crews were their employees etc etc. At no point in time was it ever disclosed to me that after I paid almost $2,000 dollars to American Metal Garages that some other company would be calling me out of the blue and demanding payment. American Metal Garages stated that the initial payment was a down payment and there would be a 50/50 split on the remainder owed (50% at scheduling and 50% at completion). The ACTUAL builder apparently does not operate that way but I have no leverage because I can’t get my $2k back from the crooks at American Metal Garages.

There was no hand off to the other company, no introduction of any sort. I just received a set of engineered drawings at 8:37 this morning followed by an ALL CAPS, red highlighted email stating that my order had been placed on hold and would not be fulfilled until I showed proof of a permit. I can’t get the permit without those engineered drawings that I received this morning. I’m working on the permit but this puts me weeks (potentially months) behind eh timeline that American Matal Garages promised. They indicated 4-6 weeks from the order date. Unfortunately (as I’ve said) they have no control over that because they don’t even build buildings. So the actual builder is holding my order and will not start the 4-6 week material lead time until the county issues a permit. They won’t even order the metal or start preparing to build my building. So the 4-6 week lead time that they tell you only starts once you get your permit.
