Best Built Barns/ Express Carport (Swannanoa NC)

Placed a deposit on a metal building on 9/5/24. After Hurricane Helene destroyed the site I was preparing for this slab, I spent a year waiting on other repairs and bids to get the slab completed. Turns out I don’t have enough suitable space or the money to get this project complete and Jim refused to return the deposit of $1,008.07. After he told me that corporate doesn’t refund the deposits and it was to hold materials, I contacted Express Carports who then told me that the dealer (Jim) keeps the deposit and they keep the rest of the funds paid upon completion of the garage and that it was up to him to refund the money or not. It is ridiculous to keep a deposit if no services were rendered, regardless of the amount of time between.
At the time I paid the deposit I had let him and Fatima at express carports know that the site was not ready for the building and I would contact them when it was. The materials for the building should have never been ordered if the site wasn’t marked as ready so even if corporate were to keep the deposit for materials, it would have been there mistake to go ahead and order those materials. Basically stealing from a potential customer will refer to BBB.

Iwas told my carport would be installed in 3 to 4 weeks .it's been 4 months and no carport! I get no response from them and get a run around when I call them

Get it in writing. Sure, it was my fault for trusting this person to keep his word and sell me the shed we discussed at the price he gave me verbally but at the same time, he did give me a price and when I went to order (after many days of trying to get with him to place the order - which took days between the limited hours or just plain being closed) he reneged on the price. Stupid me. What a shame as I was particularly happy about dealing with a local small business. Thank goodness there are more than one shed sellers in the area.

Side note, we had first looked at the bigger storage building lot across the street, and were VERY unimpressed. Greasy salesman gave us the feeling we were being hustled, and my wife didn’t have a place at the table with “the guys”. Never had anything but professionalism and personal treatment at best built barns. I’ve been in hospitality for 10+ years professionally and I can tell you that besides the product itself, people are looking for a genuineness when spending their hard earned money. You’ll find it all here.

Fantastic deal! Just stopped in to look and found a mini barn that was just perfect. Great price and delivery was way faster than I'd expected. Motorcycles safe and sound inside!
