The experience we had at Keens Portable Buildings was frustrating from beginning to end.

At first, the salesman, named Pat, was friendly and accommodating. He promised us that he would deal with the metal building, the concrete, the permits, and the financing. However, once we sent the down payment of $2,800, all of this changed.

Communication was almost impossible. Calls and follow-ups were rarely responded to, and every time we did manage to talk to him, a different excuse or story was provided. Not one but two out of the concrete contractors he recommended were not even licensed, which further delayed the permitting process.

Pat insisted that we do all of this through his permitting company. They were going to charge us $1,000 in permitting costs alone. But when we managed to locate a licensed permitting company of our own that could do all of this for us for $200, he refused to provide us with the building plans. Things are even harder for us because we did not hire “his people”.

As a result of the lack of follow-through, I had to make contact with the manufacturer of the building to simply arrange a schedule, something Pat claimed he was handling. Sylvia, the woman in the office, was no help, and it is evident the two do not have any contact between them.

Despite the fact that the concrete work had now finally been finished, it had taken Keens over two months to send payment.

In summary, this project took seven long months to complete because of communication issues, unlicensed referrals, delays, and unnecessary roadblocks. I will never use this company again and will not recommend them to anyone, unless, of course, you enjoy having headaches.

Patrick was very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped my husband and I decide on a shed. He made the purchase process easy.

Just my experience - we all have them.... this is just mine. New shed owner, they do not honor A warranty for leaks and seals. I pointed out a water leak from a light rain as well as unsealed walls from roof to floor at every wall corner. They tout how well sealed their shed are - it is part of their sales pitch about how well sealed the sheds are. They did not return my calls. Always told "X is busy with a customer", gave me office # - of which sends a Read notice. So they Read my texts and still never replied to my concerns / problems for a NEW SHED that leaks.

I almost forgot to mention their method of "hurricane strapping"... Post hole digger to create a hole - disrupting the natural compactness of the sandy soil, drop in the dog-chain style screw auger, kick the sand back in the hole. Thats it, did not screw in the auger, did not tamp, no water, nothing - just kicked sand back in. I have done better setting fence post!!!

Try another place!!

Use caution when dealing with these people. They (Pat) committed signature fraud and signed my name to the financial contract. The owner Mr. Keen didn't even try to help and resolve his employee committing fraud. I would find another place to buy a shed. USE CAUTION with this keen company. I am hoping law enforcement arrests the employee soon. Keen is not an honest business man.

Initially, we had a great experience here. Had my shed built to order an on-site in about a week. I gave him a check for payment in full. At that time he asked us to leave a review of how great our experience was. Before we left the lot, we realized that our greenhouse had a solid roof where we had asked for a clear roof. Pat said that would be no problem and they would have another shed built and get it out to us asap. They cashed my check and it is now 2 months later. I have NO greenhouse, they have my money, and they will not take my call or call me back. When I drove out there so I could speak with with someone, Pat assured me it would be next week. I asked for an update if there was a problem, and that was 2 weeks ago, no update and he is still unavailable by phone.

I don't often give 5 stars for anything but Joey at Brooksville, Florida deserves it.

I bough through him a 44x20 barn and he helped me since the beginning with the available options and designs. No shady tactics, just pure honest help.

If you think the process gets difficult at any point between design to installation then give him a call and you will get a very energetic individual willing to assist you.

Great service when you buy. Not so much when you need to get materials to repair from hurricane Helene damage. Went to Cheifland FL with a drawing and list of what we need to fix roof on a 3 month old shed. Called 3 times. No call back. We are lucky no rain since but it's coming and NOTHING from them. Guess they don't want more of our money.

Polite, professional and experienced! Was an excellent experience no pressure, no fuss, tell them what you need and between ordering or what’s available on other lots they will have what you need. Purchased a 12x20 outbuilding out the door in less than 30min. Will definitely keep my business for all storage and auto coverage needs. A++
