Founded in 2007 by Tim Kunch, Monarch Iron, LLC has grown into a regional steel‑construction firm that draws on more than three decades of combined experience among its core team. Based in Durango, CO 81302, United States, the company serves customers throughout Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona, handling projects that range from commercial building frames to custom residential steel features.

Monarch Iron offers a single source for both fabrication and erection of structural and miscellaneous steel. In its Durango shop, the team produces custom components, repairs, and detailed project plans, while also providing on‑site field welding and erection services that keep schedules on track. Residential capabilities include steel stairs, railings, truss ties, beam connections, decks, awnings, gates, fencing, fireplace doors, kitchen hoods and other metal fixtures.

Monarch Iron is very good to work with. They are professional, timely and perform excellent quality work. I have used them on projects ranging from simple garage beams to complicated agricultural pipe rail systems.
The owner Tim always makes time to have a conversation and the field staff are friendly to work with. I highly recommend using Monarch for your welding needs.

We had a need to build a rope rescue training tower at our Vallecito Lake station 4 for Upper Pine. Monarch delivered and their operations person and owner walked the structure and was adamant it be perfect. We later dedicated that training tower to Leo Llyod who passed in 2022 as he was the key trainer for so many for their rope and rigging skills. Monarch helped us memorialize a legacy of training in the four corners.

This company is fantastic, very reliable, and has great design. The workmanship is top notch, I highly recommend them. They installed our interior/exterior fire escape stairs and parking lot railing at the Durango Elk's Lodge if you would like to see their work. I highly recommend them.

Tim and Monarch Iron are the most professional construction company I have ever worked with. I tried for 5 years to find a company willing and able to do my project. Thankfully, I found the right team. They are transparent, trustworthy and competent. I would not look any where else for your project.
