Morton Buildings Inc.
Founded in 1903 as Interlocking Fence Company, Morton Buildings Inc. has evolved from a single hardware store in Morton, Illinois into a multi‑generational metal‑building specialist. Over more than a century the firm expanded its product line from woven‑wire fencing to grain‑handling equipment and, after World War II, to the metal structures that protect farm machinery and livestock. Today the company brings that legacy of innovation to Idaho Falls, Idaho, operating from 4639 Landmark Cir, Idaho Falls, ID 83401, United States.
Morton Buildings designs, engineers and constructs a variety of steel structures for both residential and commercial customers. Their capabilities include custom garage builds, full‑size homes, agricultural sheds, and dedicated hobby‑shop buildings. As a licensed metal‑construction and steel‑construction contractor, they also serve clients seeking professional building design services and complete erection of the finished project. The firm’s experience with metal‑building systems enables it to address the specific needs of homeowners, farmers, and small‑business owners who require durable, low‑maintenance structures.
Clients in Idaho and the surrounding region can rely on Morton Buildings’ long‑standing expertise to guide a project from concept through delivery. Whether the goal is a functional workshop, a protective storage shed, or a fully realized metal home, the company offers hands‑on design assistance, precise fabrication, and on‑site construction. Their historic focus on quality, combined with modern fabrication techniques, provides a practical solution for anyone planning a metal‑building project in the Idaho Falls area

Spoke with a sales rep named Jake for barely two minutes. I explained I wanted a 14’ aisle and 12’ stalls. Without knowing anything about my budget, he immediately told me they weren’t a good fit. I had already mentioned we were also considering a timber frame barn, clearly signaling we’re willing to pay for premium options so their little pole barn builds aren’t out of our price range.
If I were the Director of Sales or Business Development at this company, I’d start updating my resume. Your reps seem more focused on turning customers away than closing deals. Jake didn’t ask questions, didn’t try to offer a compromise, and didn’t make an effort to sell me on a 12’ option. He just shut it down.
He also sounded miserable, so maybe it's a culture problem. Either way, don’t waste your time here. Work with a company that actually wants your business. This one clearly doesn’t.
I asked a rep from this company to come look at a location I'm planning to put an RV cover. The representative continuously asked how much are you going to give us, how much are you going to spend? He said, because we only do big jobs. It sounded like he was saying if I'm not going to spend a lot, basically I'm a waste of his time. Rude! Then he promised me he'd figure out laws on the RV covers in my neighborhood, I never heard from him again. I ultimately may spend a lot, but this would be the last place I would spend it at. Rude!
