The install team is great. Other than that, every single person that is a part of this process is completely useless and does not care about their customers. They do not do site visits, Which for 30,000+ dollar buildings is absolutely insane. They require the customers to provide the lift needed by the installers, but have zero respect towards scheduling or if they will even be able to correctly Use the equipment around the building itself. When you confront them on this, they just basically act like you’re crazy and they’re going to reschedule you if you don’t figure out a way to accommodate them within An eight hour period. When you want to complain and talk to somebody, they just pass you around to people who are completely disconnected from one another and no one that has any type of authority will ever speak to you. Sales team will not talk to you after they collect your initial deposit, Scheduling and service admin only care about getting you off the phone as quickly as possible. Overall, this was a very crappy experience and I will never use this company ever again. Zero stars.

Ordered through Carport Commanders and they sent Steel Buildings & Structures to build the shop. They did an amazing job. Customer service was great, easy to work with and it only took 2 1/2 days to complete our 30x100 building.

Horrible company - had issues from the start. They're currently 6-7 months into the project and they haven't even supplied engineered drawings for concrete. Absolutely the worse steel building company in the country. We've exchanged close to 50 emails with them. They break promises, they fail at deadlines. I'm in process of trying to get my project done to avoid legal issues.

Finding someone to help you via customer service is absolutely insane and fruitless. Also, they use agents to sell their services. In my case it was Big Buildings Direct - they have tried to help get it resolved with no luck.

I'd give Steel Buildings & Structures Inc. zero stars if it was an option.

Ascential Buildings ,. located in Mt Nebo, WV...Several years ago I bought a 20 x 40 - 3 car garage from Ascential Buildings, I love it, the sales staff was excellent, ""HOWEVER "" The people whom installed it ,.....Five Star Metal buildings out of My Airy NC, were experienced, knowledgeable,.....I love my building,.."" HOWEVER ""My building came with 2 roll up garage doors, one automatic, the other manual. soon after installation, the auto door motor burned out, I called Ascential Buildings, they referred me to Five Star, they referred me to another company, "rolleasydoor, and or North Shore Commercial door . ? I eventually was sent a new motor, they advised these motors are not of quality and to use a ground fault outlet,. Now months later, the spring broke, I was trying to get the door down and the motor burned out again,....I have a 35,000 dollar garage and unable to use a third or it,....OK Ascential Buildings, Five Star, North Shore,....What say you ?????? I have tried to get another Door company to repair, I been told these doors are not repairable, the complete door needs replaced, I have only used this garage door for only several months I've had it >>>>!!

DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE FOR YOUR BUILDING. We placed a deposit on a large building in the Spring. We got our property ready and a concrete pad poured and theb contacted SBS. We have been going around with them for MONTHS. The original plans that we had drawn up through them last Spring were apparently all wrong. I was told that the girl who worked with us had been fired and was "just terrible". We finally got the plans figured out on November 11 for the SECOND time. We signed the revisions on November 13 and paid the extra we owed for an added exterior door. And we have heard nothing since. I got a text last week that told me to call them. I figured we were FINALLY going to get something scheduled. Nope. They just wanted to "confirm the order". I had to reapprove the drawings they had done six weeks ago. Only the copies that they sent me were wrong. I had to email them back the drawings they had sent me at the beginning of November. That was last Friday. I never got a response from my email and I have called them every day since and nothing. They have $12,000 of our money for the deposit and we have nothing. I paid $40,000 for a 132×42 concrete pad that was poured over two months ago. This is our dream farm thay we have waited ten years to build and this entire process has been a nightmare.

I was very skeptical because of all the negative reviews. BUT I have had a WONDERFUL experience with this company. They met their timeline. It was at the end of the timeline, but nonetheless they met it. The few minor issues I did have when I let them know they had someone out to address those issues in a very reasonable time. The guys cleaned up after they worked and left the trash in a nice neat pile. As some people have said sometimes they can take a little longer to call you back or email you back, but I have never had them not respond. I’m sure they are very busy but for anyone who is skeptical because of the negative reviews, I highly recommend Steel Buildings and structures inc!

Steel Buildings and Structures Inc. is hands-down the worst, most incompetent, most infuriating company I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

They didn’t just send bad installers — they subcontracted my job to a crew that showed up drinking, sloppy, and totally unprofessional, turning my project into a liability nightmare from the second they arrived.

They scratched my building, damaged my doors, trashed my property, and ruined my brand-new driveway with mud, oil, and whatever else they dragged in.

And when it came time to fix what they destroyed?
They vanished. Completely. No responses, no accountability, no shame.

This company operates like they’ve never heard of professionalism, quality work, or basic human responsibility.
If you value your money, your property, or your sanity, stay as far away from this company as possible

Five star is a scam. They give you a building date then keep pushing it farther back. They blame this on weather and amount of builders they have. The weather was perfect when the building was supposed to have been built. Now it's winter time and they just keep pushing the building out. Don't buy from them. They will set all your construction timelines off and cost you more money in the long run.
