After a long search for an expert in copper roofing I found Unikorn. Vasyl came and quoted a reasonable price and I decided to go for it. I’m so glad I did. He and his team are a joy to work with. Vasyl
went above and beyond on my job as the house is over 150 years old and the scope of the work was immense. He stuck by me and never left me hanging. Always there to talk me through the process and his expert advice gave me the reassurance I needed. It was such a joy to see my roof transformed from a scrappy roof to an absolute gem. The copper roofing he made me is not only beautiful to look at but will last generations and ensure my house is waterproof for many decades. The 25-year old metal roof on our 170-year old house had been incorrectly installed and water was leaking into the house around the chimney. The roof repair required was a relatively small (two-day) job which required removal and replacement of several metal sections, repair of the rotted wood underneath, and installation of proper flashing around the chimney. We had been unable to find any metal roofers in our area who would even consider doing a repair -- some would not even return our calls. Although he's located more than an hour away from us, Vasyl replied promptly to our call and drove up to inspect the roof and meet with us. He was both friendly and professional, and did a very nice repair on schedule. We were particularly happy with his honest and thorough communications: his explanation of the problem with the original installation; his frank disclosure that because of fading that had occurred over the age of the roof, the replacement panels would not exactly match in color; and his documentation of every aspect of the work with photographs. We were entirely satisfied with his services.

Unikorn Construction Company was incredible to work with. They replaced an old cedar roof on our turn-of-the-20th century old brick house with beautiful new shingles that look just like slate but are actually a much lighter weight composite material. They worked in very cold weather with the utmost professionalism and completed the most beautiful, beautiful roof, complete with gorgeous copper flashing on dormer windows and chimneys. Really beautiful details all over the place! I loved working with them, because it is not often you find such professionalism, impeccable attention to detail and a great eye, passion and great work ethic -- plus just all around nice people! We feel very lucky. Could not recommend them more!

We had an urgent repair underway when it was discovered we needed some copper flashing fabricated at short notice. Vasyl was very busy at the time but promised to produce the flashing at his first opportunity.

True to his word, he was able to get the material, form it, and help with the installation. As the project progressed, we needed a gutter and downspout fabricated as well, and Vasyl responded in a timely manner.

Throughout the process he kept us up to speed on his status and was honest and responsive about timing and complications. Overall, an excellent contractor experience - highly recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of hiring Unikorn Construction to replace my chimney cap which was rotting away and leaking water into my house. These guys are honest hard working people and a pleasure to talk to. The craftsmanship is nothing less than perfect. The attention to detail is amazing. Well worth every penny having the piece of mind knowing the job is being done right by competent people. Went above and beyond my expectations to make sure I was 100% happy. Vasyl is an increasingly rare breed - creative and attentive to the most minute details, you can tell that his work is one of passion. We had a fairly complex roof with many transitions and angle changes - Vasyl and his his team managed to simplify the lines of our roof and achieve our goal of a quiet understated palette. If you have the opportunity to get on Vasyl’s calendar, take it!

We had an excellent experience with Vasyl and his team at Unikorn Construction. We had an aging cedar shake roof which we replaced with a standing seam metal roof. Vasyl's knowledge and expertise was clear from the beginning and the project went very well despite some significant weather issues. I would definitely recommend Unikorn for any roofing projects.
