I really don't want to have to leave a negative review-- I *hate* leaving negative reviews for small companies, especially as my husband is a small business owner in the trades.
Unfortunately, the process with Viking has been a real disappointment so far. Firstly, we were not informed ahead of time that, due to the tariffs, the final installment for our building would be much higher than we were initially quoted. Imagine my shock when I noticed a credit card charge that was several THOUSAND dollars higher than I was quoted. I know the tariffs aren't Viking's fault, but a heads up as a courtesy should be the absolute bare minimum. The additional cost is a LOT of money for us and, if we weren't so far down the line in the process, it would have made me rethink placing an order at all. Additionally, after we paid the final installment at the end of September we were initially told to expect delivery in early December. We rearranged plans and put several projects on hold in anticipation, only to now be told that the building is delayed. Still no actual delivery date aside from a broad estimate of "probably around 8-10 more weeks." This delay is putting my husband and I in an extremely precarious situation with several of clients whose projects will now be delayed as well.
I know we're living in crazy times and I do empathize with the stress small business owners are under but woof.. the domino effect of a potential two-month delay will put a lot of people out. Hopefully we can get this resolved and I can update the review more positively but, as of now, I cannot recommend Viking.
Update: 10/1/2025
We've been working with Viking's entire team over the last week to fix what felt utterly broken in terms of sales, follow through and trust. Happy to say that they've made huge strides to address every one of our issues and are working diligently to finish our project.
Big lessons:
- Viking isn't a one-stop-shop, which wasn't apparent when we began to work with them. They design & engineer. Many other component manufacturers fabricate. And another set of builders install. All good in the end but not crystal clear at the beginning.
- We've had two all-hands conference calls with their project management and engineering teams. Great people and absolutely essential to solving design and build problems. Previously we'd had to do this through intermediaries, which took time, caused confusion and ultimately never solved the problems. Much better and faster now.
- We have direct access to the team now, whereas before all communications went through a gatekeeper -- a nice one -- but it was not very productive.
All-in-all, I'm much more confident about getting our building done! Still have a ways to go and I'll keep updating this review, but we're on the right track.

Scam. Fraud. Run away! We went from prompt, professional treatment during the sales process to overseas "help" after putting down a deposit. Can't talk to anyone in their California "location"...which doesn't seem to exist. Asked endlessly to talk their an engineer on the phone but only could talk to some nice guys in Egypt who couldn't solve our problems. Finally they inserted an "engineer" into the conversation, only to find out he works for the software firm they use to draw out plans. Can't visit their "production facility." If Viking is not a scam, they try incredibly hard to play the part. Still waiting for a call from the "owner" -- Hunter Heskett.
Also, the positive reviews by "Ahmed," "Mohamed," "Trevor," "May" and many others are Viking's supposed overseas help reviewing their own terrible work. I wouldn't be surprised if every single positive review is also fake!
RESPONSE TO VIKING'S REPLY:
Hunter, while I appreciate your response, why did it take this public note to hear from you? Why not respond to my previous messages? I've been promised a lot and gotten nothing but the run around.
Even your responses are nothing but fluff:
- You're starting a national office -- great! Where is it? No one operates in thin air...other than scammers.
- You use software to draw your plans -- great! But why would you put me in touch with the software company instead of your engineers who use the software?
- You're not sure why I can't visit the production facility that you "use" vs own/operate. I can tell you why -- because no one's contacted me to arrange for a visit. Probably because it would expose things you'd rather keep hidden.
At this point, I have zero faith that I'll ever get a building out of you and I'd like my deposit back!
UPDATED #2
Our warehouse project is back for now. We appreciate Hunter and team helping the project forward. Will report back when/if the project is done.
UPDATE #1 :
Hunter, you have our phone number. We were misled that you were a California based company. Please return our deposit immediately.
Beware. Some kind of shell company. We've tried for months to get the owner on the phone because we cannot get straight answers from the staff who answer the phones from an international location. Read the one star reviews before you spend money. They will happily take your deposit then give you the silent treatment.
EDITED TO UPDATE ON PROGRESS:
Our project has now received the attention it required. We are hopefully moving forward to the city approval process. We look forward to progress.
ORIGINAL:
We're getting the run around on our large project. If you need to talk to someone in Fresno, no such person exists. This is probably a scam or has recently turned into one.
EDITED TO ADRESS RESPONSE FROM OWNER:
In the time that it took you to post on Google, you could have just responded to the many emails regarding our project. Please return our deposit as a show of good faith.
I don’t write reviews that often, but the team at Viking Manufacturing earned it. I especially want to thank Nancy and Tamer.
The initial process was pretty smooth—getting the quote, the design, and the scheduling all went as promised. There was one bump in the road with permitting, but I wouldn’t really say that was Viking’s fault; the permitting office didn’t explain a few things clearly, which led to some confusion for everyone involved. I later learned that dealing with permitting offices is often the most frustrating part of getting a steel building from any company.
Thankfully, Tamer (who I believe is their lead customer support agent) stepped in, helped us get it all sorted out, and even covered some of the extra cost we hadn’t planned on.
In the end, everything came together, and I’m happy with both the building and the people behind it. I’d recommend Viking to anyone who wants a steel building.
