100 % great experience having them build and install our carport!

Ordered a carport October 1st for a new camper we bought was told 3 to 5 weeks .. I was cool with that thanksgiving rolls around we get email of the dates it should ship out told them we would be on vacation week of thanksgiving after thanksgiving got email saying it was assigned to a group and should be out dec 1 through the 8th not a word … then get email saying delivered December 14Th on a Sunday between 7am and 8 am well left the beach early that morning rushed home for a no show apparently the crew didn’t know what the weather channel is for well it rained didn’t get a phone call nothing not even a text … now that we decided we’re not gonna play the game anymore and want a refund … steel structures didn’t even offer any info on what happened … i don’t know how they stay in business operating like that with crappy set up crews but they won’t be having my business … crazy thing is I have bought 2 carports from them before never had a issue

My response has always been slow to none since I received my building. Still waiting on response for an issue that was reported almost of not a year ago. What's the point of paying for something that is faulty?

Buyer beware. They will leave your yard full of screws and trash. I urge anybody thinking about buying one of their buildings to take a look at the place they're manufactured. You can't drive through the parking lot without running over metal and screws. It's an eyesore for the community and I don't understand how the city allows it. The Modelo cans all over the place pretty much sums up how they feel about their products.

As i waited to give an honest review of my experience i see i have to give one. i was hoping Steele Craft made good on fixing the issues. I see on Google review all the negative reviews had the same experience. I purchased a 10x16 greenhouse from Dave's building in SC. They are a third party vendor for Steele Craft in statesville, N̈C or was they no longer work with them due to issues i was told by the owner. I paid in full for my custome greenhouse. Like all similar greenhouses I was quoted 6 to 8weeks. I order and paid in June 2025. Two dates were given for delivery after I had to call the company myself after waiting for months and not hearing from anyone about a delivery date. The vendor give me Kyle the plant manager because they could not get in touch wirh anyone. I eventually did and kyle insured after 14weeks went by without on word from them a delivery date. A date was set after that time and nobody showed up. after calling back numerous times and told they did not have all the materials, Kyle the manager was going to personally make sure all the materials was properly order. He talked me into not canceling the order and another date was set and no-show. We agreed via text and via recorded conversation to $500 refunded for the unbelievable customer service ,no shows and now over 3months of waiting for a product I paid over $6000 for. After my husband had to get involved and speak to him we finally got a delivery. we agreed NOT to cancel the order because the manager of steele craft Kyle agreed to issue a $500 refund. He said he personally went accounting to tell them.The installation had problems there was no pading for greenhouse to block drafts. There was a gap around the top that was opened. my husband had to demand the installation people to fill up the air gaps. it a greenhouse there should be no open air gaps. To make matters worse after constantly calling about the $500 refund i finally got one for 200$. When I called Kyle he did not pick up of course. I called from a different number and someone did by the name of Rachel. I asked to speak to manager regarding this experience. she refused to give names and said they are looking into it and will call me back. THEY NEVER CALL BACK AND DO NOT LOOK INTO IT. I HAD TO DO ALL THE WORK. I have been told someone will get back to me numerous times. HAVE TEXT MESSAGE AND RECORDINGS OF BOTH THE RUDE EXPERIENCE WITH RACHEAL AND PROMISE FROM KYLE OF $500 REFUND IF I DONT CANCEL. I rather not spend my time writing negative reviews this experience is a buyers beware. Dave's building in SC nolonger sell their greenhouse because of constant customer service their customers experience. This is not how you treat your customers. this greenhouse was not cheap at all! Do better Steele craft. I will do a video review as well. I gain nothing giving this review but the telling other customers the truth!

DON'T BELIEVE A WORD!

Given their Google rating, I was really hoping I could leave a 5-star review after the completion of my $100K+ (all-in) project. But, if I could give less than 1-star, I would.

From my very first conversation with Steelcraft Metal Structures back on April 9th, I made it crystal clear that I wanted upgraded steel. Every discussion and email since then centered around the building design and my insistence on the upgraded material. I even mentioned multiple times that I would bring a micrometer to the build site to confirm it.

After months of communication and reassurances, I signed the paperwork in good faith — believing they would stand by their word and match the competitor’s quote as promised. Now, almost seven months later and a trip to Statesville to meet him personally, their Senior Dealer Rep, Will Zentmeyer, is refusing to honor that commitment and is instead trying to hold me hostage for more money because of what’s “on the paperwork.” The addendum, which is also signed, is very specific on the upgraded materials. The last time I checked, an addendum this part of "the paperwork."

It doesn’t matter that I have written proof, multiple emails from their sales rep, and documentation of what was agreed to — they simply won’t do the right thing. When people show you who they are, believe them.

UPDATE AFTER THEIR RESPONSE: I'm happy to post the ADDENDUM to the contract that was signed and dated. Item 11 on the DocuSigned addendum CLEARLY states the upgraded steel was indeed included, "As per initial discussion with Will."

The proof is irrefutable.

If I could leave negative stars I would. Where do I start with the issues from taking weeks to provide prints needed for the permits, rescheduling deliveries and installations, to excuses and claims of “misunderstandings” every error they made. Their contractors who came speak 0 English, and didn’t measure then requested additional pay. To be told by our “project manager” Jessica that we just misunderstood and our translator was a middle person who was translating. Absolutely the worst.

Installers did a great job! Very professional

I had a carport installed at my camp in Blowing Rock NC. The crew consisted of 5 very respectful friendly young men. I noticed each individual worker had a specific job to do. they were very efficient at what each worker had to do. they started and finished in 1 hour 40 minutes.I would recommend them anytime. They also cleaned up all debris. Excellent installation, carport looks great. Thank you
